A USF student was pronounced dead at an on-campus residence hall on Friday morning, according to University Police (UP).

The identity of the student has not been released. The circumstances that led to the student’s death are still under investigation, authorities say.

Foul play is not suspected and there is no “active threat” to the campus community, a UP spokesman said.

UP was notified of an unresponsive student at Endeavor hall at 10:20 a.m., according to police.

When officers arrived at the co-ed dorm in The Village, near Holly Drive, “rescue efforts were administered without success,” a media release read.
