Rocky goes 1-0 in Mascot Challenge
Even though the second week for USF football ended in a loss to Michigan State, the first week’s matchup for the 2013 Capital One Mascot Challenge had a slightly different outcome.
While the Bulls suffered a 21-6 loss to the Spartans, USF’s mascot Rocky the Bull beat Michigan State’s mascot Sparty, 52 to 48 percent, based on fan votes.
In this week’s matchup, Rocky takes on Louisiana State University’s mascot Mike the Tiger.
As of Monday, Rocky was ahead of Mike, 67 to 33 percent. Votes are submitted through capitalonebowl.com, the same site where the winner for
Round 2 will be announced Monday, Sept. 16.
The winner of the competition will be announced at the Capital One Bowl Jan. 1.
