Women’s basketball heads north to play WVU

The South Florida women’s basketball team will play at West Virginia on Saturday. Coming off of a loss against Notre Dame on Tuesday, the Bulls are looking to pick up a much-needed Big East win.

The Mountaineers enter the contest with a Big East record of 3-8. USF is tied with Georgetown for ninth in the Big East at 5-7. With the Bulls on the NCAA bubble, coach Jose Fernandez said every game is important.

Playing at West Virginia could be an advantage, considering USF has won its last three road games.

After Tuesday night’s loss, senior Jessica Lawson said her team must focus on winning through adversity.

South Florida had five players with 10 or more points against the Fighting Irish, and a repeat team performance would lift the chances of leaving Morgantown with a victory.
