USF hosts West Virginia tonight in the first of a three-game conference series against the Mountaineers.
The Bulls (23-9, 6-3) are coming off an 11-4 win against UCF on Tuesday night and have won seven of their past eight games. In that span, the Bulls have outscored their opponents 74-28.
USF has six players batting over .300 this season, including junior shortstop Walter Diaz. Diaz is leading the Bulls in batting average (.398), hits (53) and runs scored (41) and will be looking to extend his hitting streak to 15 games today.
The Mountaineers (17-8, 3-3) won both games in their doubleheader against Coppin State on Tuesday, but were swept last weekend in a three-game series against Louisville, their last Big East opponent.
USF is 2-1 all-time against the Mountaineers, with all three games taking place last year in Morgantown.
On the mound, senior right-hander Danny Otero is set to make his ninth start of the season for the Bulls. Otero is 5-4 and has a 2.61 ERA this season.
Keep an eye on: Mountaineer outfielder Justin Jenkins. The senior left fielder extended his hitting streak to 24 games by going 3-for-5 with an RBI Tuesday. Jenkins is leading the Mountaineers in batting average (.447) and hits (46) this season.
