The story: The women’s basketball team hosts its third annual Image Depot Shootout this weekend against Texas Southern and Georgia Southern. The Bulls own an all-time record of 4-0 during the tournament.
Senior Jessica Dickson needs to score only 37 points to become the all-time leading scorer for the women’s basketball team. Wanda Guyton holds the record with 1,820 career points.
During the season opener against Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Dickson scored USF’s first 13 points and finished with 29 points in 26 minutes before fouling out. It was only the third time in her career that she fouled out.
Southern Texas opened its season with an 81-65 loss to Sam Houston State. The Bulls lead the all-time series with the Panthers 1-0 after a 75-62 victory in 1991.
The Bulls host Georgia Southern on Sunday. The Lady Eagles are 1-1 on the season and are coming off a 84-77 loss to Jacksonville State despite forward Tiffany Brown’s 23 points, including 16 in the second half.
USF trails the all-time series 4-2 but has won the last two meetings with Georgia Southern. The two teams last played in 1994.

There were stretches where we played […]
