Tassio leaves Bulls
Junior softball pitcher Corin Tassio, who was one of the top two pitchers for the No. 22 Bulls this season, has left the team due to personal family issues.
Tassio leads the team with a 1.22 ERA and is tied for the team lead in wins with nine.
She will not compete with the team this weekend in the Speedline Invitational and might not be back for the rest of the season.
“Corin has left the team due to personal family matters and she’s no longer with us,” coach Ken Eriksen said. “It’s too bad and it’s a situation where she can’t avoid it right now, and that’s it. That’s the way it is, and we’re going to have pick up our steps and come together a little bit.”
During the current 15-game winning streak, Tassio has racked up five wins, giving up three runs while fanning 18 batters in 27 innings.
“She was a pretty good part of the first 25 games, obviously, with nine wins, but it’s a shame and we wish her all the best,” Eriksen said.
