The New York Times wants to interview USF President Judy Genshaft but not about anything that has to do with Sami Al-Arian.Michael Reich, director for media relations at USF, said the interview, actually done by New York Times Magazine, will be about the growth of USF’s athletic program.
“They’re looking at our program and whether or not it’s an example of a program that’s grown quickly and whether or not that’s had a good impact on campus,” Reich said.
Reich said the interview, postponed from Wednesday until Friday, will concentrate on issues of campus life surrounding athletics. He said at this point, the magazine is only conducting research, and Genshaft’s words may never reach publication.
