USF Bulls’ BCS Bowl chances diminish after loss to UConn

In a season full of firsts for the Bulls, it was seconds that may have dashed their title hopes.
Two weeks since peaking at No. 2 in the country, USF (6-2, 1-2) has lost twice and went from a national championship contender to a long shot of winning its own conference.
For the second time in as many appearances at Rentschler Field, the Bulls have seen their Big East Championship dreams all but destroyed with a loss in Connecticut.
More importantly, for the second consecutive week, after all the miscues, the Bulls failed on an opportunity to tie the game and salvage an otherwise poor performance.
