USF’s Sammie Puisis signs with WNBA’s Chicago Sky

Sammie Puisis might have gone undrafted on Monday – but it wasn’t long until the former USF guard was picked up by the WNBA.
The Chicago Sky announced they signed Puisis to a training camp contract Wednesday, becoming the 10th Bull in program history to sign with a WNBA team.
Training camp contracts are one-year, minimum salary deals to evaluate players to make the final roster. Financial terms of the deal were not announced, according to the Sky.
Puisis spent three seasons at USF, and became one of the top perimeter threats in the nation.
She averaged 15.5 points per game in 65 starts with the Bulls after transferring from Florida State in 2022

Puisis made 106 3-pointers last season, the fifth most in the nation. Her 217 career threes are the third most in USF history.
Her 28 points against Tennessee in her last career game are the second-most by a Bull in an NCAA tournament appearance.
She was also one of eight players to participate in the State Farm 3-Point Championship on April 3.
Puisis is the first USF player to make an WNBA team since her teammates Elena Tsineke and Dulcy Fankam Mendjiadeu were drafted back-to-back in 2023.

Tsineke was selected 20th overall by the Washington Mystics and Fankam Mendjiadeu was taken 21st by the Seattle Storm.
In Chicago, Puisis joins center Angel Reese – an NCAA champion with LSU and one of the league’s top young talents.
The Sky also selected TCU guard Hailey Van Lith with the 11th overall pick on Monday.
The Chicago Sky tip off its 2025 season against the Indiana Fever at 3 p.m. on May 17. The game will be broadcast on ABC and ESPN+.
