PHOTOS: USF introduces head baseball coach Mitch Hannahs
“I take pride in never changing,” said newly hired head baseball coach Mitch Hannahs during his introductory press conference in the Yuengling Center on Friday afternoon.
Change is inevitable for the former Indiana State head coach and southwest-Ohio native, who’s moving nearly 1,000 miles from Terre Haute to sweltering Tampa.
Hannahs spent 11 seasons as the head coach of the Sycamores, leading them to five NCAA tournaments. He was hired as USF’s eighth head coach in program history on June 8.
Hannahs will inherit a team that has largely suffered from mediocre seasons since USF’s first Super Regional tournament appearance in 2021. The Bulls went 26-29 last season.

Newly hired women’s golf coach AJ Newell was also introduced Friday. She was hired on June 3 after former coach Erika Brennan departed for the same position at Georgia.
The USF women’s golf team made back-to-back trips to the NCAA Regional tournament for the first time since 2022.
