Brito, Mendjiadeu take home weekly honors

USF women’s basketball has started its season strong, and two Bulls were rewarded for their contributions Monday.
Senior forward Dulcy Fankam Mendjiadeu and freshman wing Carla Brito were recognized for their outstanding play while propelling the Bulls to a 3-0 record over the first week of the season.
Mendjiadeu was a preseason all-AAC pick and has made good on that selection, averaging 21 points and nine rebounds over the Bulls’ first three contests. On Monday, the forward put up 25 points and 14 rebounds in a win over Jacksonville. Monday she was announced as the conference player of the week.

However, Mendjiadeu was not the only Bull to receive hardware this week. Brito won AAC freshman of the week, averaging 10.7 points per game and 6.3 rebounds this season.
Brito was one of four USF players to finish in double figures in the season opener, dropping 14 points and six rebounds against Morehead State on Nov. 7.
