Bulls to host NC State in first round of NCAA tournament
The USF women’s soccer team will host NC State in the first round of the NCAA tournament Sunday at 1 p.m., as was announced Monday afternoon by the NCAA.
It is the eighth time since 2010 the Bulls (12-3-3, 6-1-1 AAC) have made the tournament and their fifth straight appearance dating back to 2017.
NC State (8-8-2, 4-6 ACC) has notable wins against Duke and North Carolina this season, both of whom are currently ranked in the top 10 in the United Soccer Coaches rankings.
The Bulls lost their chance at an automatic bid into the tournament after losing in the conference tournament final against Memphis on Sunday, but still were able to achieve hosting duties. Along with the Bulls, two other AAC teams made the tournament, as Memphis secured the automatic bid and SMU is scheduled to host Texas.
If USF defeats NC State, it will move on to the Round of 32 and face the winner of a match between No. 4 Pepperdine and South Dakota State.
