Bulls reach highest ranking ever, check in at No. 14
For the first time in program history, the USF women’s basketball team is ranked as high as No. 14 in the AP Top 25 poll, which was released Monday afternoon.
The historic feat surpasses the previous best ranking of No. 15, which was reached five years ago to the day of this new accomplishment. At the time, the Bulls boasted a 12-4 overall record and were 5-1 in conference play.
This season, the Bulls are 10-1 overall and 7-0 in the AAC. Their one loss came at the hands of Baylor, which was ranked No. 4 when the teams played in early December.
As for what’s next for the team, its previously scheduled game Wednesday against Wichita State has been postponed due to COVID-19-related issues within the Shockers’ program.
This is the Bulls’ second straight game to be either canceled or postponed. Their matchup versus Memphis earlier this week was called off after the Tigers were unable to play due to health and safety concerns involving their roster.
The Bulls must now wait until Jan. 23 to take the floor again as they are set to travel to North Carolina to take on the East Carolina Pirates.
USF baseball shows grit in uneven series
When looking at South Florida baseball’s series loss against Virginia Commonwealth, the scores themselves don’t paint a clear picture of what happened over the three game slate. To begin the series, the Bulls (9-16) fell to the Rams (12-12) 18-3 on Friday in what began as a pitching battle up until the seventh inning. The […]
USF softball begins conference play, sweeps ECU
USF softball started off conference play on a high note with a three-game sweep over the ECU Pirates. It was a great weekend for the Bulls (22-15, 3-0 AAC), as they outplayed the Pirates (21-12, 0-3 AAC) with a great offensive showing. East Carolina’s pitching staff allowed the Bulls to get on base easily, and […]

Looking ahead to USF’s final nonconference series
Conference play is creeping up on South Florida baseball as the calendar approaches March 31, but USF (8-14) will first have to take on Virginia Commonwealth for a three-game slate. Beginning Friday, the Bulls will aim to improve their record against the Rams (10-11) after struggling to log a weekend sweep all season long. Pitching […]
USF softball midseason report card
Halfway through its disappointing season, USF softball has garnered nearly as many losses as their previous season total. While the Bulls’ (19-15) offensive production leaves a bit to be desired by scoring just 3.44 runs per game, their high-skilled opponents should be taken into account. In its first 34 games, South Florida competed against No. […]
