On-campus early voting site open until Nov. 1

Registered county voters should bring a valid photo ID and face mask to participate in early voting or drop off their vote-by-mail ballot at the College of Education’s TECO Hall until Nov. 1. SPECIAL TO THE ORACLE

In partnership with the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections, the USF Tampa campus will host an early voting site for the upcoming general election for registered county voters beginning Monday.

The early voting site will be located at the College of Education’s TECO Hall (David C. Anchin Center). It will be available for voting seven days a week, from 7 a.m.–7 p.m., until Nov. 1.

All registered voters from Hillsborough County will be able to vote at TECO Hall’s early voting site. On-demand ballots specific to any precinct in the county will be available and individuals must bring a valid photo ID to obtain their ballot.

When arriving at the site, individuals must have a valid photo ID, either a Florida driver’s license, an ID card issued by the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, U.S. passport, debit or credit card, military ID or student ID.

Additional measures to ensure the health and safety of all individuals were implemented at the polling site, including a vote-by-mail curbside tent as well as decals specifying the location of the line, traffic flow and where to stand to enforce social distancing. Face masks will also be required at all times when inside the facility.

ExpressVote devices and break areas will be sanitized after every use while privacy booths and handles and knobs will be sanitized at the start of the day.

On Nov. 3, all registered voters will have to vote at their assigned polling place.

“Voting is one of the most important civic actions we can take as engaged citizens,” USF President Steven Currall said in a universitywide email Oct. 16. “I encourage members of the University of South Florida community to exercise this fundamental right.”
