USF football’s game Saturday against UConn has been moved to an earlier kickoff time as a precautionary measure due to a mosquito-borne virus in Connecticut.
The Bulls and Huskies, originally scheduled for a 7 p.m. kickoff, will now play at noon, the AAC announced Sunday.
The decision to move the game came after UConn received guidance from the Connecticut Department of Public Health regarding eastern equine encephalitis (EEE), a mosquito-borne virus.
EEE-infected mosquitos have been identified in at least 15 Connecticut communities, according to the Hartford Courant.
As a result, UConn has recommended all post-dusk outdoor activities and events be rescheduled to take place during daylight hours, when mosquito activity is significantly reduced.
The game was scheduled to be broadcast on CBS Sports Network when it was a 7 p.m. kickoff. However, new broadcast arrangements are being made, according to a statement released by USF on Sunday.
CBS Sports Network is scheduled to broadcast Tulane vs. Army at the new kickoff time for USF-UConn.

For Mathis Haugen, a USF international student-athlete from Norway, his journey started with a leap of faith. Haugen said he planned to take a gap year after high school and then apply to college. But when USF recruited him in fall 2021, everything changed. Now a senior, the men’s soccer defender had never visited the […]

In the summertime, while some USF students are having fun in the sun, athletes don’t stop their training. USF beach volleyball players Morgan Anderson and Sasha Pasloski know all too well what goes into a Division I athlete’s summer routine. Although the Bulls won’t play their inaugural season until the spring, they have been preparing […]
