No. 28 USF looks to move up in rankings with a ninth straight win
USF will travel to Stetson University tonight where they will attempt to extend their eight-game winning streak and keep their ranking among Collegiate Baseball’s Top 30 teams.
The Bulls (22-14) will play Stetson (20-17) at 6:30 p.m. in a one-game series. In the first matchup between the two teams, USF came out on top in a 12-8 win.
On Monday morning, the weekly collegiate rankings revealed that USF’s eight-game winning streak moved the team into the NCAA Baseball Top 30, as it currently sits as the No. 28 team in the country.
Taking the mound for the Bulls tonight will be sophomore right-hander Mike Clarkson (4-1). Clarkson started for the Bulls in the previous matchup against the Hatters and has a 4.39 ERA.
Leadoff hitter sophomore Kyle Teaf will look to extend his 30 game-on-base streak. The last time Teaf went a game without reaching base was Feb. 24 against Florida State University.
With the new ranking, every game has now gained even more importance for USF, as they have been given an opportunity to prove themselves to the nation.
