Online evaluations open today

Gone are the days of hand-bubbled course evaluations, according to an email sent to students Wednesday from Dean for Students Michael Freeman.

For the next two weeks, course evaluations will be available online and accessible via laptops, tablets and smartphones.

“The new online system will allow faculty and administrators the ability to incorporate your feedback into future courses and course offerings more quickly than the current paper based evaluation process,” the email said. “Course evaluations are important to faculty and administrators to improve the course structure, content, and teaching approach.”

Students will receive an email today containing instructions and links to their course evaluations.

All information collected via the online evaluations will remain confidential and course instructors will not be able to access the system. Student ID information will not be linked to the surveys, the email said.

Evaluations will remain available online until Friday, April 26.
