New recruit signs with Bulls
USF added another recruit to its 2013 class Wednesday, with the signing of Kennard Swanson.
With Swanson signing the National Letter of Intent toattend USF, he becomes the 24th addition to the class and addsversatility to Bulls, having played both sides of thefootball.
The 6 foot tall,250-pounder, thoughrecruited as a fullback, also has experience as thedefensive tackleposition where he helped Lake Gibson HighSchool to a 10-1 record and obtain a berth in the regionalquarterfinals during hissenior year.
As a four-yearletterman for Lake Gibson,Swanson was an all-stateand two-time all-countyselection. As fullback, hecarried the ball34 times, totaling 172 yards and eight touchdownsduring his final two seasons.
Swanson also earned a6A first-team all-stateselection for defense in his senior year. As adefensive tackle, he recorded197 tackles, 37 for a loss, with31 sacks in his last two years.
The decorated two-way standout received offers from Florida, LSU,Pittsburgh, West Virginiaand even coach WillieTaggarts former school, Western Kentucky, before signing with the Bulls.
