RAMIREZ UNRETIRES
Controversial outfielder Manny Ramirez ended his retirement Monday, signing with the Oakland Athletics. Ramirez famously retired from the Tampa Bay Rays only five games into last season on April 8 after testing positive for a banned substance for the second time, triggering an automatic 50-game suspension. The Dominican Republic native must serve that suspension before becoming eligible to play for Oakland, where he signed a one-year contract worth about $500,000. Entering his 20th Major League Baseball season, Ramirez is 14th all-time with 555 career home runs.
