USF student arrested with deadly weapon

University Police (UP) arrested David Gerald Moseley, a freshman majoring in engineering, for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon Tuesday, according to a media release.

According to the release, UP received reports from classmates who said that Moseley “confronted them while displaying a knife in a menacing fashion.”

The release said the incident occurred at 7:45 p.m. after Moseley asked a professor to remove the students from his class for being disruptive.

At 11 p.m., the time of the arrest, Moseley was still in possession of a four-inch bladed cutlery knife.

Moseley was released from the Hillsborough County Jail on Wednesday on $2,000 bail.
