Three players suspended indefinitely
Senior guard Janae Stokes, junior forward Sequoyah Griffin and junior guard Dominique English are suspended from the USF women’s basketball team indefinitely for violating team rules, a school official said.
Stokes, who was suspended earlier this season for petty theft, leads the Bulls in 3-point baskets with 55 and is second on the team with 12.1 points per game.
Griffin, a junior college transfer from Georgia, has started 19 games for USF this season and is third on the team with 9.7 points per game.
English averaged 1.6 points per game in limited action this season.
“Our coaches told us that they are suspended indefinitely,” said senior Jessica Lawson on Saturday after the Bulls beat Seton Hall. “That’s all they said, so we just need to continue to worry about our business on the court.”
USF did not give specifics on the reasons for the players’ suspensions, only that they are indefinite.
