After splitting two games last weekend, the USF women’s soccer team looks to rebound as it hosts the inaugural USF Invitational against Florida International and LSU.

The Bulls (1-1-0) will play FIU (1-1-1), USF’s third straight in-state opponent, Friday at 7:30 p.m.

USF coach Denise Schilte-Brown said she respects the kind of soccer FIU plays.

“I think they’re a very organized team,” she said.

USF is coming off a physical match against then-No. 7 Florida in which the Gators scored two goals in the second half to beat the Bulls.  USF beat FAU 1-0 on Friday.

“We’ve learned from our past two games and we’re going to take what we’ve learned into this game,” Schilte-Brown said.

The Golden Panthers faced Florida Gulf Coast Sunday, a match that went into double-overtime and ended in a scoreless tie.

FIU won its last match against USF, beating the Bulls 3-0.
