VOLLEYBALL GAME TIME
The USF volleyball team hopes to rebound from its Wednesday loss when the Bulls go on the road to take on Georgetown on Saturday.
The Bulls (12-6) lost their most recent match 3-2 against the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles.
Sophomore Marcela Gurgel has recorded double-doubles in her past three games. She added 20 kills and 19 digs against the Eagles, while Kristina Fabris achieved the Bulls’ only other double-double with 16 kills and 16 digs.
The Bulls have improved defensively this season in part because of defensive specialist Alli Arbogast, who leads the team in blocks per game with 1.55. She also had 10 blocks against the Eagles.
Georgetown (5-18) comes into this game having won only one game in their past 10. Georgetown recently has come off a 3-2 loss to Virginia Commonwealth. They fell in the first two matches but regained focus to take it to five games. Jessica Hardy led the team with 26 kills while sophomore Kortney Robinson tallied a double-double with ten kills and 12 digs.
The Bulls will look to turn in their fifth win in eight games when they take on the Hoyas in Washington D.C.
