Letters to the Editor
Re: “SG president faces investigation” and “SG enforces convenient discipline”Fellow students:In response to yesterday’s article and editorial concerning Student Government, I would like to take this opportunity to address the issue. First, I want to offer my sincerest apology for not discussing the issue with you sooner. This was an error in judgment on my part, and I hope to strengthen the relationship between myself and the student body through honesty and open communication. Since the incident, I have kept members of the administration and Senate leadership involved in discussions on how to best handle the situation. After following their recommendations, I have developed into a better leader because of this humbling experience. As I faced the consequences of my mistake, I have enhanced my character by holding myself accountable while still fulfilling my obligations to the student body as your president. On Tuesday, Sept. 4, I informed the Senate of the situation and asked for its understanding and forgiveness. Now, I turn to you, the student body, and ask for the same.
Sincerely,Barclay HarlessStudent Body President
