The women’s basketball team hopes to turn around its struggles against ranked opponents tonight as the Bulls face No. 15 Louisville.
During coach Jose Fernandez’s seven-year tenure at USF, his program has posted a record of 4-17 against teams ranked in the Top 15 of either the Associated Press or the ESPN/USA Today polls.
This season, the Bulls are 0-3 against ranked opponents.
Tonight’s matchup features the Big East Conference’s two leading scorers with Angel McCoughtry leading Louisville with 21.9 points per game and Jessica Dickson pacing the Bulls with 21.1 ppg.
Player to watch: McCoughtry. The sophomore forward is coming off a 24-point, 14-rebound effort against Georgetown. In addition to her stellar numbers, McCoughtry preserved the Cardinals’ 57-54 victory when she blocked a three-point attempt by Kieraah Marlow.
