The story: The volleyball team looks to capture its first regular-season tournament championship, traveling to Atlanta to take part in the Georgia Tech Regency Suites Classic.
In 2003, USF appeared in the tournament and finished with a 1-3 record. The Bulls are trying to capture their first tournament sweep since the USF Best Western Invitational in 2002.
USF opens play against Stetson. The Bulls have been dominant over the Hatters, riding an 18-game winning streak against the in-state rival and a 39-3 all-time record.
Host Georgia Tech is the only team entering the tournament with a winning record. The Yellow Jackets are led by outside hitter Talisa Kellogg and her team-high 84 kills per game.
Saturday marks the inaugural meeting between USF and Sam Houston State. The Bearkats are coming off a runnerup finish during the SHSU Invitational. Middle blocker Lindsay Roebken has 73 kills and 20 blocks this season.
Keep an eye on: outside hitter Ashley Reavis. The senior is second on USF in kills (77), aces (8) and third in digs (69).
