The story: The USF women’s volleyball team will be looking for the 700th victory in the history of the program tonight when it kicks off the USF Smoothie King Invite.
The Bulls (2-3) host Jacksonville (4-2) at 7 p.m. in the Sun Dome. On Saturday, the Bulls will take on Wright State (1-6) at noon. They will then wrap up the tournament against Texas Tech at 6 p.m.
The team will be looking to even its record at 3-3, while trying to improve upon a second-place finish in last weekend’s tournament. The Bulls lost to Towson 3-2 on Saturday in the USF Best Western Tournament. Against in-state rival Jacksonville, USF is 26-17-1 all time.
Keep an eye on: Stephanie Augustivo, who is coming off a team-high 25 digs. She was also named to the USF Best Western Invitational all-tournament team along with teammate Marcela Gurgel. Augustivo has emerged as a premiere player for the Bulls and is sure to have a large impact on the outcome of the tournament this weekend.
