DePaul (2-5-2, 0-2-1 Big East) at USF (5-3-1, 0-2-1 Big East); No. 5 Notre Dame (9-1, 4-0 Big East) at USF
When: Tonight, 7; Sunday, 1 p.m.
The story: The Bulls play a pair of home games against the best and the worst that the Big East has to offer. Tonight, the Bulls take on DePaul, which is sixth in the Big East’s Blue division. The Blue Demons have played only one game this season in which they scored more than one goal.
Adding to their offensive struggles is their team 1.80 goals against average, which is dead last in the 16-team Big East.
After DePaul, the Bulls play Sunday against a team that could be the toughest they face all year – No. 5 Notre Dame, the 2004 national champions.
The Bulls know all about tough games. USF is fresh off a 1-0 overtime loss to No. 12-ranked Connecticut, where they played the Huskies close until a deflected ball allowed UConn to score in the ninth minute of overtime. Although the Bulls are currently sixth place in the Red division, they are seventh in the Big East in goals per game (1.56) and third in the Big East in goals allowed (7).
Keep an eye on: Michelle Buskey. The senior midfielder is third on the team in shots (13) and 10th in the Big East with three assists. Buskey played well against UConn and the Bulls will be looking to her to lead their offensive attack this weekend.
