Sun Doll memorial set
A memorial service for former Sun Doll and USF business student Rikki Lewis will be held at 5 p.m. today in the MLK Plaza.
Lewis, 21, was a member of the 2001 and 2002 Sun Dolls team majoring in marketing and expected to graduate in May. More than 200 people are anticipated to attend the memorial along with many local media outlets including Bay News 9. Family, friends, and well wishers are invited.
Funeral Services for Lewis were held Jan. 27 in Fort Lauderdale.
“A lot of students could not attend the funeral services due to prior obligations,” said Jeffery Blum, a senior in Marketing and member of the Sigma Nu fraternity, said. “We took every class together, I knew if it was me she should do the same because that was the type of individual she was.”
Lewis died Jan.23 on Fowler Avenue. According to a police report, Lewis’ SUV flipped while avoiding another vehicle. Tampa Police arrested Tracie Ann Elder, 32, of 21841 Hale Road, Land O’Lakes, for leaving the scene of a crash involving a death. Elder was released Jan. 24 on $7,500 bail.
Donations can be received in the Phyllis P. Marshall Center in Room 263. Anyone with questions regarding donations can call 974-9906 and request to speak with Barbara.
