Interviewing begins for Public Health dean candidates

The search committee responsible for finding a new dean for USF’s College of Public Health decided Monday to invite its top four candidates for on-campus interviews starting April 19.

The four candidates are: Jasjit Ahluwalia, chairman of preventive medicine and public health at the University of Kansas Medical Center; Daniel Hoffman, professor at The George Washington University School of Public Health; Lloyd Novick, professor at the State University of New York Upstate Medical Center; and Donna Petersen, professor at the University of Alabama-Birmingham School of Public Health.

Chairwoman Patricia Burns told The Tampa Tribune on Tuesday that the committee hopes to have a new director hired by Aug. 1. Stanley Graven has served as interim dean of the school while the search is being conducted.
