After whittling down the list of finalists to 12 last month, President Judy Genshaft at Thursday’s Board of Trustees meeting unveiled USF’s new-look license plate.

The plate was picked after consultation with a series of on-campus focus groups, which represented students, alumni, athletics, the president’s office and university relations, said Stephanie McMullon, director of member services for the Alumni Association.

McMullon said the plates should be available for consumers by late January or early February.

Specialty plates in Florida cost $25 plus registration fees and taxes. Those who own a USF plate already will have to pay a $10 plate-change fee, in addition to the $25, fees and taxes to receive the new plate.
