Bulls win fall finale
The USF men’s golf team placed three golfers in the top 10 en route to a one-stroke win in the Fall Beach Classic at Gulf Shores, Ala.
Brad Quiri shot a 67 on Tuesday after consecutive rounds of 69 to open the tournament Monday, leading the Bulls and tying for second with an 11-under par 205. Oscar Fraustro shot 208 and Ryan Shears shot 209 for USF to finish tied for seventh and 10th, respectively. Chris Black finished tied for 34th with a 215 on the tournament and Frederico Mautone shot 221 for 58th to complete the Bulls’ victory.
The tournament was the Bulls’ first win of the season, and the team’s last event of the fall season. They will open their spring schedule with the Rio Pinar Intercollegiate on Feb. 16-17.
