Also playing: Cowboy Bebop Animates Screen
The movie is based on a popular cartoon set on Mars in the 21st century where a new frontier is set up for new cowboys. After an explosion of a truck and the release of a murderous virus, the crew of the space ship Bebop sets out to find the villain and collect a great reward.
Although the movie seems somewhat like a long episode of the show ,and the dubbing is sometimes less than perfect, the animated feature strays away from the mainstream examples of japanimation. Interesting even to those who do not favor anime, the independent release is worth seeing while still in theaters.
