Bulls take Texas two-step to TCU

The USF men’s basketball team will look to recover from Tuesday’s loss at Houston when the Bulls take on the TCU Horned Frogs Saturday at 8 p.m.

The Bulls’ hopes for an at-large NCAA Tournament were all but scuttled Tuesday when they dropped a one-sided contest 91-75 to the Cougars. USF (16-8, 6-5 in C-USA) dropped to third place in the Conference USA National Division standings, relinquishing second place to the Cougars.

The Horned Frogs (14-12, 4-8 in C-USA) are on a three-game winning streak, having defeated DePaul, Houston and UAB. Leading scorer Junior Blount (18.3 points per game) and Bingo Merriex poured in 27 and 23 points, respectively, as the Horned Frogs defeated UAB 78-68 Tuesday.

Despite their winning streak, the Horned Frogs are second from the bottom in the National Division.

The Bulls won their first matchup with the Horned Frogs Jan. 5 at the Sun Dome by a score of 117-108.
