Golfers finish ninth in tourney
The South Florida men’s golf team placed ninth Wednesday at the Adams Cup at the Point Judith Country Club in Newport, R.I. in the second tournament of the fall season
The Bulls 54-hole total of 883 was 29 shots behind first-place New Mexico. Michigan State finished second, seven strokes behind the Lobos.
For the second consecutive tournament, Tele Wightman fired a team-low three-round total of 216, good for a 13th-place tie. Wightman paced the Bulls at USF’s first tournament of year, finishing second overall at the Raising Cane Classic in Hattiesburg, Miss.
Ricky Carillo finished with a total of 219 and Jay Cavanagh shot a 224.
