PHOTOS: USF’s stadium groundbreaking ceremony
A long-held dream of the USF community came one step closer to reality on Friday.
USF officially broke ground on its $340 million stadium set to open before the 2027 football season. University leaders, including President Rhea Law and Board of Trustees Chair Will Weatherford, spoke about the impact the on-campus stadium will have.
“The stadium will greatly enhance the experience for our students and will provide a compelling reason for our alumni and future generations of Bulls fans to visit our campus, build lifelong connections to USF and increase their engagement with everything our world-class university has to offer,” Law said.

With less than three years before the stadium opens it gates, Athletics Director Michael Kelly said championships will be won in the open-air stadium.
The groundbreaking was delayed in the aftermath of Hurricane Milton, but Law dug her shovel into the dirt Friday, signifying the start of the long-awaited construction of the stadium.
