The news of Yetna’s departure marks seven USF men’s basketball players that have transferred out of the program this offseason. The flurry of transfers comes with the news that USF is investigating the men’s basketball associate head coach for “racially charged comments.”
Yetna spent four seasons at USF, but was only able to see action in two of them. He redshirted his freshman year and his junior year was over before it started due to an injury he sustained in the preseason in 2018.
In the 52 games spread across his sophomore and senior seasons, however, he proved to be one of the AAC’s most prolific rebounders and was a consistent double-digit scorer.
Yetna averaged 11.4 points and 8.9 rebounds in 29.3 minutes played per game in his career at USF. In the 2018-19 season, he was on the cusp of averaging a double-double as he scored 12.3 points and pulled in 9.6 boards per game.
The Bulls had 14 players on the roster last season, including redshirt junior Ezacuras Dawson III who opted out of the season. Thus, Yetna’s transfer means that at least half of the team from the 2020-21 season will not be returning to the program.
