USF confirms its third and fourth COVID-19 cases
Last Wednesday, USF President Steven Currall announced the university’s first positive coronavirus (COVID-19) case. Today, he announced the third and fourth.
The systemwide email said it was an employee from Innovative Education and a student who was traveling abroad, both from the Tampa campus.
The student is not a risk to the USF community as they have not been on campus this semester. The employee last stepped foot on campus March 13.
Both are in isolation and are being monitored by health officials.
Those who may have come in contact with the employee were being contacted, according to the email. Innovative Education services are located in the USF Library.
Of the four known cases, two are students, two are employees and they have been confirmed on two of USF’s campuses —Tampa and St. Pete.
