Fifth-seeded Bulls travel to Connecticut
With a new conference comes the inaugural conference tournament, as the fifth-seeded Bulls travel to Storrs, Conn., for a quarterfinal matchup Sunday in the American Athletic Conference Tournament against fourth-seeded UConn, a rematch of their regular season contest.
Both teams come into the tournament familiar with one another, as they played each other at Corbett Soccer Stadium on Oct. 6.
Bulls’ junior midfielder Cristin Granados kicked in the game-winning goal in double overtime, to lift the Bulls past the Huskies.
Looking to continue the momentum from its previous road trip, USF snatched its first road victory last Sunday with a 6-3 win over Houston following a 0-0 draw against SMU; USF finished the season strong and scored the highest number of goals since its 7-0 season-opener win against Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
Sophomore Olivia Chance scored two goals in the Houston game, and made the conference weekly honor roll this week.
Meanwhile, the Huskies enter the weekend splitting their last two regular season games on the road with a 2-1 victory last Thursday over Rutgers, followed by a 5-1 loss against Memphis on Sunday.
The match will begin at 1 p.m.
