USF (5-4) at Arizona State (9-2)
USF (5-4) will face No. 10 Arizona State for a three-game series on the road this weekend, starting Friday at 9 p.m.
The Sun Devils (9-2) have started the season with 10 straight home games, but this is the first time the Bulls leave the Tampa Bay area this year.
USF senior Alison Savarese and redshirt sophomore Capri Catalano each were selected to the Big East honor roll after performances last weekend when the Bulls went 3-2 at the USF La Quinta Inn and Suites Tournament.
Savarese hit her fourth homer in four games during the Bulls’ 2-1 win over Michigan State on Friday. Savarese leads USF in total bases (23) and RBI (11) and is second on the team with a .345 batting average.
Catalano, who was sidelined all last season with a shoulder injury, pitched a complete game, giving up two hits against the Spartans.
The Bulls, however, are on a two-game losing streak after dropping the final two games of the tournament. USF, which uses a five-player pitching rotation, got three quality starts to open the tournament, and four of USF’s five starters have a sub-.400 ERA.
