Oracle: It’s our round … at the bar and at the jukebox; what’ll you have?
Prof. Spottke: Cranberry juice, straight up. I’m usually the d.d. And on the juke would be “Ice Cream Man” by David Lee Roth, guaranteed to satisfy!
Oracle: What is the best soundtrack for English Majoring?
Prof. Spottke: Anything from WFLZ. Any of those songs would be perfect for correcting grammar.
Oracle: Who wins in a fight: Whitney “Crack Down” Houston or Prince?
Prof. Spottke: Prince wouldn’t stand a chance. Whitney is “Every Woman,” that’s a lot of strength.
Oracle: What would your hit single be called, and what kind of music is it?
Prof. Spottke: I’m not sure of the name, but it’s definitely heavy metal. Something that relieves my stress as I dance wildly around campus — hey, it’s my beat.
Oracle: Which album has most influenced your youth?
Prof. Spottke: Any of those ’80s love songs nearly ruined my teenage years. Sinead O’Connor’s “Nothing Compares to You” comes to mind first. It’s a good thing Alanis Morrisette set me straight in the ’90s.
