Men’s Basketball Game Time

South Carolina ST. (0-1) at USF (1-0)When: Tonight, 7Where: Sun Dome

The Bulls and the South Carolina State Bulldogs will both be playing their second game of the season, and it will be the first meeting between the two teams.

USF is coming off a 77-61 opening-night win on Monday against the University of Buffalo.

USF and Buffalo kept it close in the first half, trading the lead four times, but USF came out strong in the second half and didn’t allow Buffalo to get closer than within four points after the first four minutes of the half.

S.C. State, a Mid-Eastern Athletic school with only 4,700 students, is coming off a 55-53 loss Friday to South Carolina. The Bulldogs finished 11-7 in conference play last season, good enough for fourth place but not a postseason appearance.

USF’s last game against a Mid-Eastern Athletic opponent was a 75-68 loss to Bethune-Cookman last season – the game that started a school-record 17-game losing streak.

Keep an eye on: freshman guard Solomon Bozeman. Fellow freshman Amu Saaka started at guard in the Bulls’ 66-50 exhibition win against Saint Leo on Nov. 6, but Bozeman got the start against Buffalo after Saaka suffered a concussion earlier this week. Bozeman was second in the game with 23 points in what was his first collegiate game. With Chris Howard still out with a knee injury and Jesus Verdejo not eligible until mid-December, Bozeman will get plenty of playing time in the beginning of the season.
