Time Changes Everything

Cyndi Lauper burst on the scene in 1983 with She’s So Unusual, one of the most commercially successful debut albums of all time. A tight collection of Lauper originals and covers by the likes of Prince, the album spawned four Top 5 singles thanks to colorful, sassy videos that were in constant rotation on MTV.

Although songs such as “Girls Just want to Have Fun” and “Time After Time” (a Lauper co-write that both Miles Davis and Willie Nelson have covered), still receive heavy airplay, none of the flashy New York natives post-1980s output has been able to dent the charts. Regardless, Lauper continues to write and perform with passion. Her latest collection, Shine, is due out later this year.
