In Brief
For the next four days, USF Parking Services will upgrade the electrical system in the Collins Blvd. Parking Garage, the parking facility adjacent to the USF Library.
On Friday, the lights on the first level of the garage will be shut off for safety purposes while local contractors work on the electrical system, said Frank Granda, manager of USF Parking and Transportation Operations.
Levels two through five will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Granda said the Memorial Day weekend is a “perfect opportunity” to upgrade the system and bring “continuity” to the garage, since the other on-campus garages have updated systems.
He said students who have valid parking passes and classes after 5:30 p.m. during the weekend may park outside of their assigned-letter areas.
The Collins Blvd. Parking Garage is the only garage that will be closed. Granda said the garage will re-open Tuesday morning when classes resume.
