Today show correspondent to broadcast live from campus

Sara Haines, a news correspondent for the Fourth Hour segment of the Today show, will be shooting a live broadcast in front of a Tropical Paradise-themed Marshall Student Center near the bronze bulls on Thursday morning for Kathie Lee and Hodas college segment. Students are invited to join Student Body President Brian Goff, Athletics Director Doug Woolard and a grass-skirted Rocky D. Bull in their tropical attire at 8:30 a.m. for a chance to promote USF, one of six finalists in a competition to host the Kathie Lee and Hodas special college broadcast in early October.

USF Spokeswoman Lara Wade-Martinez said while some of the other six universitiesbrought out cheerleadersand mascots for Haines live shots, USF hopes to set itself apart.

We need Kathie Lee and Hoda to come to tropical paradise in Tampa, Fla., she said.Wade-Martinez said she hopes students come decked out in board shorts, floaties,sunblock lotion on their noses and even birds and other crazy, tropical things.
