Heath has ‘feeling’ injured Gilchrist could play Tuesday Georgetown

USF sophomore forward Augustus Gilchrist has been sidelined since early December with a high ankle sprain, but he could play when the Bulls face Georgetown on Feb. 3, said USF coach Stan Heath on Tuesday.

‘No doctors told me this, but I have a feeling Georgetown may be the ‘X’ on the calendar that has a real good chance of him playing,’ Heath said.

Gilchrist is second on the team with 18.8 points per game this season and led USF in scoring before his injury.

‘We’re missing one valuable piece right now,’ Heath said. ‘If we can just hang in there until we get that piece back ‘hellip; this team can win games. It just has to have its full complement of players.’

USF hosts Seton Hall on Thursday on ESPN2.
