Softball games postponed

The USF softball team (28-16, 7-5) traveled to New York this weekend only to have its Saturday doubleheader with Syracuse (16-11, 5-2) cancelled because of inclement weather.

The doubleheader was canceled because of cold, rainy conditions and has yet to be rescheduled. Syracuse had two games scheduled against Pittsburgh on Sunday, which prevented the Bulls from playing the Orange during the weekend.

Saturday’s postponement marks the second time the Bulls/Orange game has been cancelled because of bad weather. USF had to cancel its doubleheader against Syracuse in 2007 and didn’t make up those games.

USF won’t take the field again until Saturday, when the team plays a doubleheader against No. 17 DePaul.
