The story: USF opens Big East Conference play Sunday against Seton Hall. USF’s conference schedule concluded against Seton Hall last season, with the Pirates earning a 3-1 victory at home.
The Bulls are looking to end a three-game skid and capture their first victory against the Pirates. Seton Hall is 1-2 on the road, while the Bulls are 3-3 at home this season. Marcela Gurgel, Ashley Reavis, Kristina Fabris and Johari Williams have all recorded at least 100 kills this season for the Bulls.
After a 1-4 start, Seton Hall has won seven of its last eight matches. The Pirates are led by sophomore Brittany Rahrer. The setter leads the Big East in assists per game with 13.12.
Keep an eye on: libero Allie Matters. The freshman leads the Pirates in service aces (19), and is second on the team in kills (153) and digs (144).
