The story: The softball team is on fire with a four-game winning streak after posting back-to-back shutouts against non-conference opponent Towson University. Bree Spence and Cristi Ecks each posted complete-game victories in consecutive 3-0 victories.
The Bulls head back on the road for a doubleheader today at the Mercer University Tournament in Macon, Ga. USF will face Siena and Troy universities.
USF starters have been a big reason for the team’s success, holding opposing teams to one run in the last 26 innings pitched. Spence is now 9-5 overall this season and Ecks moved to 11-9 with Wednesday’s victory.
