Hoops program loses guard

The USF women’s basketball team will be without its projected starting point guard this season.

Senior Chanae Early, charged and arrested in May with two felonies for fraudulent use of a credit card and involvement in a number of burglaries worth $11,000, withdrew from USF, The Tampa Tribune reported on Saturday.

Early is trying to transfer to a Division II school to finish out her last year of eligibility, the article stated.

Early averaged 6.6 points last season.

According to the same report, senior guard Tristen Webb and former USF guard Alana Tanksley have been put into a six-month diversion program. The two were arrested in April for misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct and obstructing an office without violence.
